Sonya L. Edwards is the Chief Executive Officer and Administrative Manager for MVA Virtual Administrative Services.
While growing and raising her family in Philadelphia, PA., she ran the proverbial rat-race in corporate America, honing her skills in the needs and challenges of the financial industry, learning the legalese of administration, and developing the fortitude and forthright characteristics desirable in business and leadership.
Ms. Edwards holds an Associates Degree in Applied Sciences in Paralegal Studies from the Community College of Philadelphia and certification as a Notary Public and Notary Signing agent for the state of Pennsylvania.
After her children were grown and no longer living at home, Ms. Edwards embraced her “second act”, responding to the entrepreneurial bug she no doubt inherited from her late father. Not only is she the founder of MVA Virtual Administrative Services, she is also the founder of a non-profit community organization in the Philadelphia area known as, Determined Women of God (D.W.O.G).
Actively involved in politics, Ms. Edwards occupies a seat in the 61st Ward, 20th Division Democratic Committee. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, doting on her grandbabies, engaging in faith-based activities, and supporting her community through charitable, political, and information-sharing activities. The most sacred of her personal-private engagements is date nights with her soulmate and life partner…her husband.
As CEO of MVA and D.W.O.G leader, Ms. Edwards accepts nothing less from her partners and teammates than excellence in customer service and performance. Her rules for conduct are biblically inspired, in all that she does or supports in doing, she stand by the quote, “And whatsoever ye do, do it as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.” Colossians 3: 23 NIV/KJV

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from the University of Texas in San Antonio (UTSA), a Master’s degree in health education (MSHE) from Western Governors University (WGU) and a Doctoral degree in public health (DRPH) from Walden University (WU).
I offer a broad range of skills and experience to help MVA accomplish its mission and meet its goals while servicing and satisfying its client base in the multitude of tasks that are outsourced and in need of virtual support. I enjoy watersports, adventure, self-defense, and time with my friends and family.
